(*1980) The Basel-based painter builds all his work around his profound interest in people. This can be seen in his thorough analysis of the psychological effects of colour such as the Baker-Miller pink, which was used in prison cells in the 1960s to calm people down. Also, he likes playing with technology created by humans like digital renderings of certain light scenarios around a shark, sweets or a muscular horse – all unified in the soothing effects of the pink colour. Ayed’s visual language is unmistakable and makes people of all ages smile.
(*1983) The Buenos Aires-born artist studied at the Escola Massana art and design school in Barcelona before he dedicated himself to tattooing in Berlin. Since 2014, he has been living in Basel where he continues to engrave people’s skin with organic motifs characterized by an exceptionally filigree artistic style. Mazzeo has an extended background in visual arts and exhibits a selection of his expressive portrait and nude drawings.
(*1979) Originally, the now self-employed photographer from Basel started his career with an education in furniture development and design. Later, he worked as a cameraman in post-production for various TV stations as well as on projects in digital visualization and as an art photographer. Since 2009, he has devoted himself entirely to photography and digital image processing. With motifs ranging from objects, architecture, fashion, and people to art, Herzog inspires a wide audience.
